@nother kind of money
Is @nother kind of money possible? One that does not leak away from where it is most needed? A kind of money that would lead to a more just, more effective and more sustainable society?
Two committed people with vastly different backgrounds get into conversation. Worlds collide. One of them is an economist who has just quit her job at the bank. The other one is the driving force behind the innovative money and trading systems that the Social Trade Organization (STRO) has been testing at different locations around the world. While the ex-banker doubts there even are viable alternatives to the current monetary system, her curiosity does overcome her skepticism as she learns more about STRO’s R&D. During the course of this conversation, she is challenged to critically review traditional concepts of money and the economy.
The resulting book holds a few surprises: like speculation being the most important function of money and ICT-innovations posing a more basic threat to the banks’ monopoly than Bitcoin do.
In a separate section of this book, STRO’s managing director Henk van Arkel, describes the latest developments of @nother kind of money. Based on her R&D, STRO’s partners in Europe have been implementing local money projects in Bristol, Catalonia and Sardinia.. The realization of these Social Trade Credit Circuits is supported by the EU in the Digipay4Growth project. We’ve ascertained that local money is effective during crises!
Find out how your help and our IT-innovations can help realize an alternative to the dead end street of banks and financial markets. Not since ancient Sumerian times, have two kinds of money existed simultaneously. It is happening in our Time!
This book is suitable for a general public. It does not use jargon and the conversation format that is used, makes it an easy read.
It is a must read for anyone who is interested in what is really happening with the euro, the crises and the available solutions. Based on empirically tested ideas, it offers a unique vision and fresh perspective on what money really is, why a second currency is useful and how money can behave in an either advantageous or disadvantageous way.
We expect the English translation to be available in the second half of 2016, while sections of it may be available earlier. It will be published in a free to download e-book format with the condition that you pass it on to at least two other people, entrusting them to follow your lead.
